An intellectual and deeply Spiritual dancer, Teacher and Choreographer, her dance productions have won her critical acclaim over the world. She has been on numerous concert tours, to several nations, both as an ICCR delegate and through private organizations. Her lecture demonstrations and workshops are regularly held at international conferences, including the UNESCO. She is a recipient of the Women’s International network award at Teenmurthy Bhavan in Nov 2010 .
Smt. Padmaja holds varied degrees and has submitted her doctoral thesis on the Science of Tantra and the Art of Natya. Among her many achievements are performances of her troupe at various Rajbhavans and at Rashtrapathi Bhavan where she was honoured by Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. A writer and scholar, her works are frequently published. Her institute Aatmalaya ,known earlier as Kalpataru Kalavihar constantly shares dance with the lesser-privileged children in Bangalore and rural areas through it's project-KALACHAITANYA.

Born in an artistic legacy, Padmaja Suresh is the daughter of renowned Chakyar Koothu exponent Kalaiselvam Sri.Chakyar Rajan. She began dancing at the tender age of four and went on to train with Guru Sri K. Kalyanasundaram of Sri. Rajarajeswari Bharatnyata Kalamandir.
